If you do not see the photos posted on Connect it could be your browser that needs some tender love: 

Please, try Clear cache & cookies, if you have not already done so. The link has step-by-step instructions for Android, IOS, and Desktop. Just select the relevant tab at the top.

Also, please log out of your Local Guides account and log back in.

Your issue most probably is related to your settings.

To fix it please try the following steps:

• Open this link: https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/user-preferences
• Unflag "ignore HTML" that you can see on the bottom of the next screenshot 

• Scroll down the page to Save your settings.

I thought of that also, but it looks like some standard or default images are shown in @Ismail26's screenshot. Is that how the no HTML flag works?

A default image is what connect display when you "Ignore HTML", @MortenCopenhagen . Just try
