Here on Connect, we listen to the feedback of our active community. We heard you loud and clear when you said that you could not make progress on the Fact Finder badge. So now, we have made it easier to earn the badge and to progress through the badge levels when you contribute factual information.
To unlock the different levels of Fact Finder, you will need to submit approved edits and answer questions. Did you know that there are different types of questions you can answer to earn points for Fact Finder? Here are a few tips.
Check the facts
- Open the Google Maps app and tap Contribute.
- Tap More ways to contribute / Contribute now for Android or See suggestions for iOS.
- At the top, swipe left across the categories.
- Tap Check the facts and confirm place info.
Answer questions
- Open the Google Maps app and search for a place you’ve been to before, or tap it on the map.
- Tap the place's name or address.
- At the bottom, next to "Know this place," tap OK.
- Answer the questions.
Answer questions when leaving a review
You might have noticed that, when leaving a review of a restaurant or a hotel, there are additional questions you can answer to provide more information. With a few quick taps, you can let others know about important details such as vegetarian options, accessibility features, price range, and more.
