Molasses made from sugarcane juice.

Sugarcane cultivation is a cash crop of our Bangladesh. More and less sugarcane is cultivated in almost all regions of Bangladesh. However, many regions do not produce molasses from sugarcane. My home upazila Fulbaria  in Mymensingh district is famous for producing sugarcane red sugar. While doing local guiding I explore the architecture of the villages of my current address Shibganj Upazila and add new places to Google Maps. Such is the case when I visited a village a few days ago and saw sugarcane jaggery being made.

But anyway, today I will show you how to make sugarcane jaggery.

First the suitable canes are cut and stacked. Then the sugarcane leaves are removed from the sugarcane with a sickle.

Then the sugarcane is threshed with a threshing machine and the sugarcane juice is collected. The juice is filtered and collected through a strainer.

Then the raw juice of sugarcane is heated in an iron pot. Heat it like this for several hours. Then stir to heat the juice.

When the juice becomes molasses, take it off and stir to cool.

If the liquid jaggery thickens while stirring, collect the liquid sugarcane juice in the required container and cool it, it turns into jaggery.

Thanks a lot for reading the post in detail. Have you ever seen this kind of molasses with your own eyes?
